Leaving the big city Xi’chang in two mini busses I experienced one of my worst car rides to date. The roads were small and either very packed or really run down dangerous. Our Chinese driver was speeding up insanely every two second or stepping on the breaks because of an encountering truck or sudden turn. Seemes like every major road was temporarely closed down so all traffick went through the small villages and country roads instead, and because the hot and sunny weather every farmer had put their rice to dry all over the place-yes even on the road, which made it even smaller. They don’t have a lot of respect for traffic rules or road safety in China I’m afraid.

After about 4 hours of that I could breath out for a while…

Our trip to to the former leprosy village in the far far away mountains in northern Yunnan. We started out going, was it 9 hours by train? Slept over at hotel in the million city Xi’chang before continuing towards Ta Er Ti.

In Xi’chang we had a typical breakfast on the local food street right behind our hotel. Seen on the last picture is the most typical breakfast meal together with a kind of dumplin, noodlesoup or pancake. Notice the two girls sitting on the opposit side of the road. They were super cute and had a lot of interest in us. I talked a bit to them before we left and we took pictures together on their cellphones, haha.

Photos from the ‘Minority Village’ in Kunming. It’s a big area where arcitecture and minority people are collected from all over Yunnan to show off ther specialities in small villages within the ‘Minority village’. Kind of like the danish ‘Frilandsmuseet’ but where they collected and rebuild old houses from around Denmark and having ‘actors’ there to make a living museum. The people in the ‘minority village’ are of corse sort of actors, but indeed also living in the village full time and each from their representive minority.

Another shot from Karro(YoshiVlog) and my classmates study trip in Yunnan just before easter. With the awesomeness of the atmosphere I would probably be ready to accept nearly anything else missing in comfort haha.

They moved almost all of Kunming universities to a ‘new area’ outside of the central city. It takes about 1 hour with bus and the new university center is build up from scratch in a totally remote area. A big cross net of broad roads, a few trees and bushes to decorate and a square of buldings here and there. The university buildings are really boring and cold and most of the students live in alike cold and very very simple enviroment. I don’t even think they had grocery stores in the area from the beginning always eating from the schools food halls. Maybe good for concentrated studies to live out of town, but awful if you ask me. The only nice thing about being out here was all the students, to meet a lot of people my age and students just as me.

That’s it!! The mystic theme music from our pre-lucia show at Yunnan university december 13! And how we wondered and pondered and discussed options, and we were not too far. Conlused something western-is and John William-ish. It is the theme music of the legendary western ‘Magnificent seven’, scored by Elmer Bernstein, a great inspirator to John Williams. I am mad about film scores, and not knowing where that piece were from have really bothered me! <3 <3 <3

The movie year 2012 already looks promising and here are a few of the wonders I look forward to the most:
The Hobbit-Finally the Hobbit is here, with Peter Jackson thank godness and a lot of good old faces with a lot of new promising ones.
Batman-How did I miss the dark knight rises trailer before going to the cinema today!?! It looks very serious and miserable indeed, a bit on the futuristic side and as usual Oldman an Gordon-Levitt makes me swoon, also the leading ladies looks fab(shame on all hard words against catwoman). That mask breathing villain is a minus though…
The Avengers-have been an excitement since I pulled myself together and saw  Cap. America. The combi of heroes are neat and look forward to see more of Iron Man, the captn, Thor and Loki last but not least!
Other movies I am awaiting to see are ‘War Horse’ and ‘Brave‘…
